Are We Really Made of Stardust?

Yes! Everything in our solar system is made of stardust - this includes YOU!

With the perfect balance of science and wonderment, My Name is Stardust, explores the scientific concept that the planets, the stars, the galaxies, and even ourselves are made from the same star stuff. It's pretty amazing for most people to learn this beautiful truth in science. The fact that everything is made of stardust helps us understand and appreciate our connection to the cosmos and everything in the world around us.

About the Authors

Bailey and Douglas Harris

Bailey got the science writing bug when she was eight years old. She was watching a show hosted by famed astrophysicist and science communicator, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and he said, "The planets, the stars, the galaxies, we ourselves and all of life - are made of the same star stuff." She became so inspired by this statement that she immediately started working on her first story, My Name is Stardust, which was co-authored with her father Douglas. This is the first book in their series of illustrated children's science storybooks.

Curiosity about a few universal questions lies at the base of the uniquely human exploration of the cosmos which we call science. Who am I? Where did I come from? My Name Is Stardust captures the excitement of its young author's exploration of her world and its origins.
