Dr. Sears has taught me this simple but very important tip - eat a BRAINY BREAKFAST! You might say you’re not hungry for breakfast, your child won’t eat breakfast, or you’re just too rushed. Dr. Sears educates about the essential need for the right breakfast for you -  and especially your kids. Think about it, when your child wakes, they haven’t eaten in about 12 hours. Their body has been in fasting-mode where they need to be in re-charging mode. Then they are off to school where they won’t eat until lunch. That would be about 15 hours without fuel in their body. What to eat? The focus needs to be on healthy protein for breakfast. Add in a healthy fat or whole grain as well. These foods will be their fuel and won’t burn fast like overly processed sugary cereals, muffins, or any thing that isn’t whole grain. Try a whole grain waffle with a nut butter. Sliced apples with a cheese stick and some almonds. Scramble an egg in 2 minutes and serve with sprouted grain toast. If they love avocado, spread that on whole grain toast. Enjoy! Your child's brain will thank you!
